Pile Integrity Testing (PIT)
Pile Integrity Testing (PIT) uses stress waves generated by a light impact at the pile head to evaluate the integrity of deep foundations. A handheld hammer is used to strike the pile, while an accelerometer records the resulting wave response. The reflected signal is analyzed to identify changes in pile material or geometry, such as cracks, voids, necking, or variations in length. The data provides a quick, non-destructive assessment of pile quality and highlights any anomalies or deficiencies observed.
