VIBRATION MONITORING
Municon provides vibration monitoring of heavy construction operations including blasting, mass excavation, pile driving, vibrations generated by diesel, hydraulic, vibratory and drop hammers, rapid impact compaction, heavy demolition, deep dynamic compaction, stone column ground modification, pipe bursting and benthic vibration monitoring.



Bayshore and Central Freeway Viaducts, San Francisco, California
This seismic retrofit project targets the viaduct Interstate 80 from Fourth Street to Sixteenth Street and was constructed under multiple contracts. Municon provided vibration monitoring and photo survey services for all eight contracts.



Pier 400 Container Complex, Port of Los Angeles, California
Municon provided vibration monitoring services during deep dynamic compaction ground modification for the new 484 acre container complex built on the Pier 400 landfill. Facility encompasses container yard, gate complex, buildings and parking, six shipping births, and an on-dock rail yard that will serve as the vital link between shoreside ship/cargo operations at Pier 400 and the Alameda Corridor.



San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge East Span Replacement, San Francisco and Oakland, California
Municon provided vibration monitoring services for test pile driving operations on this proposed $2 billion bridge replacement. Services included on underwater benthic seismometers and in water high frequency hydrophones as well as sound level meters deployed from its own fleet of small boats.  



Tasman Corridor Light Rail Extension, San Jose, California
Provided vibration monitoring services on new 7.5 mile extension of the existing Guadalupe Corridor light rail transit system from Great America to downtown Mountain View. Project includes 12 new stations.  



Route 5 Widening, Orange County, California
Municon provided vibration monitoring services on five highway widening projects with a constructed value of over $165 million along the Interstate 5 corridor in Orange County, a total of six highway miles. The project reconstructed and widened the interstate, added HOV lanes, and included bridges. One project was directly adjacent to Disneyland, one of the county’s major tourist attractions,  


Everett Smelter Site Remediation, Everett, Washington
Municon provided vibration monitoring of deep dynamic compaction ground modification work for Asarco Inc. The project involved removing the most contaminated materials, primarily arsenic, lead and other metals, from former smelter operations. Material with arsenic concentration above 3,000 ppm on the 600-acre site was excavated and taken off site for disposal. Once contaminants were removed, the site was restored with clean fill, and the area was prepared for reuse.
